The King Power shopping centre lives up to its slogan "King of Duty Free" – it's the market leader of this segment in Thailand. It's a well-known name in the country: Spread over several locations, the company operates shopping centres covering 4.8 hectares and 12,000 square metres of sales space, generating sales of 2.14 billion USD (in 2017, the year the project took place). One of the most famous locations is the King Power shopping centre in the heart of Bangkok. The operators wanted to create a spectacular splash deck fountain on the forecourt of the shopping centre to captivate discerning shoppers from all over the world.

The operators wanted to combine two impressive elements to captivate visitors: A unique, high-quality aesthetic and a variety of entertainment. The goal was to install a musical fountain system at King Power that allows for ever-changing, spectacular shows to wow the audience over and over again. The OASE solution was an installation boasting 400 pumps from the Varionaut 270 series – a debut for this product in Asia – and ProfiRing spotlights in a range of brilliant colours.

The individual fountains were arranged as a matrix, which resulted in a rather harsh appearance. However, the colourful and playful fountain effects soften the aesthetics and create an incredible spectacle, with the large splash deck matrix becoming the technological basis for an almost infinite variety of shows with water, lights and music.

Nothing is more important than a good first impression, which is why the musical fountain system welcomes visitors before they even enter the shopping centre. Many visitors take photos in front of the spectacular water feature and share them on social media. With ten alternating shows, the fountain looks different on every visit, so shoppers never get bored.
