With so many shopping malls in Doha, Qatar, competing for attention, what could the new Tawar Mall offer in 2018 to make a name for itself right from the start? The investors had an idea: two extraordinary water attractions should attract and inspire customers and invite them to spend time there. Watermaster Qatar, a local company and Oase FT partner, was commissioned with the concept and design. And with Oase’s technical expertise and product capability, it found the perfect partner to realize its sophisticated vision with precision and creativity

The mission:

How the water features at Tawar Mall were designed and installed
The high-resolution digital FlashWall in the central hall
The first attraction was planned for the central hall on the ground floor: Here, a 10-meter FlashWall was designed for maximum visual impact – realized with Oase fountain products. A high-precision digital nozzle control system creates sharply contoured images, symbols or texts on the flowing curtain of water made up of millions of tiny droplets, even in these vast dimensions.

A vision expanded beyond expectation
The second attraction is positioned on the roof terrace, where guests of the cafes and restaurants can enjoy first-class entertainment à la Oase. An impressive show fountain offers dynamic performances, with water choreographies synchronized with music and light. One of the challenges here was to conceal the pumps – which was skillfully achieved with the Varionaut pump in the smallest of spaces.
The results
A premiere, paparazzi, and lasting attention
Setting a new standard in Doha is not easy – but Oase has managed it with the first permanently installed FlashWall in Qatar. The thousands of photos and videos taken by visitors since the opening prove that it, like the show fountain, is an extremely popular photo motif. And if you take a look at review portals such as Tripadvisor, you will repeatedly find mentions of the two water attractions as a memorable highlight at Tawar Mall.
A landmark attraction
The musical fountain runs six shows per day, combining music, water and light effects to attract locals and tourists alike – and the crowds are even bigger on weekends and public holidays. The fountain show at KLCC Park is iconic in Malaysia, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the entire country.
