A multimedia fountain of water, lights and music

The fountain system in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) Park had become outdated. Initially, the operators were only interested in replacing the lighting, but then became enthusiastic about a complete renovation based on the existing design – which turned out to be a great decision. Thanks to Oase Fountain Technology, a fountain system was created that incorporates a variety of water patterns and accompanying music. The fountain has become a must-see for tourists in the Malaysian capital and it reliably attracts visitors to the city seven days a week with its spectacular shows.

How the musical fountain was designed and installed
A vision expanded beyond expectation

The ideas presented by the Oase team during meetings inspired the client to think bigger: Instead of just replacing the lighting, the mission was now to develop one of the largest musical fountains in Malaysia. The client opted for a complete overhaul of the fountain system. Only the fountain reservoir and the artificial Lake Symphony (measuring over 900 square meters) remained unchanged, while everything else was fully reimagined.

Technology that opens up creative possibilities

Two fountain systems were installed with a 360° range of motion, enabling an almost infinite variety of water patterns through rotating and swiveling movements. The Oase design offers over 480 individually controlled water effects and more than 1,000 underwater spotlights in a comprehensive range of colors. All installations were tailored to suit the water depth of the existing reservoir. Even with its vast range of effects, the renovated fountain is more energy efficient than the previous system thanks to the use of LED lighting and more economical inverters and pumps.

The results

Over 2,000 fountain shows per year

The renovated system has exceeded expectations, as the incredible variety of available water effects has unlocked enormous creative potential for producing fascinating choreographies. Even with its impressive performance features, the entire system is energy efficient and economical. With around 2,200 shows a year, it's not just efficiency that matters – ensuring that the system functions over the long term is also of utmost importance. The decision to work with Oase as a maintenance partner was the right one, as the fountain has been running smoothly for years and is extremely reliable.

A landmark attraction

The musical fountain runs six shows per day, combining music, water and light effects to attract locals and tourists alike – and the crowds are even bigger on weekends and public holidays. The fountain show at KLCC Park is iconic in Malaysia, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the entire country.
